What is included in the annual Software Assurance (SA)?

Software Assurance helps to protect your license investment for future requirements and releases.

Licence holders, who optionally acquire Software Assurance (SA) benefit from future improvements and new features of the licensed product. The Software Assurance (SA) enables you to migrate your software from a lower-level software edition to a higher-level edition. It's also required to move a license from one server to another. The Software Assurance (SA) makes available maintenance, updates, minor and major releases updates or upgrades for one year in each case and can be renewed after expiring.

The Software Assurance (SA) is valid per 1 license (server) for 1 year from the date of product license purchase.

Remarks:

• Additional services, which may be required for updating or upgrading, are not included.
• Please note, that upgrades from lower to higher SharePoint versions are possible only with valid Software Assurance (SA) for all licenses.
• Office 365 and SharePoint Online have a very short release cycle, currently it's in a constant change. That could require modifications in any client software at any time. We highly advise to order licenses with SA to protect your investment and manage this without any problems.
• SA is required for all licenses that possibly should be upgraded later on, for production and non-production licenses.
• SA is not required with our annual subscription offerings.

Mit dem Kauf einer optionalen Software Assurance (SA) profitieren Lizenznehmer von zukünftigen Verbesserungen und zusätzlichen Leistungsmerkmalen des lizenzierten Produktes. Die SA sichert auch die Lauffähigkeit des erworbenen Produktes bei Veränderungen durch Microsoft Service Packs oder neuen Produktversionen. Sie ist erforderlich, um die einmal erworbene Lizenz von einem Server auf einen anderen zu übertragen.

Die Software Assurance beinhaltet die Bereitstellung von Updates bzw. Upgrades für jeweils 1 Jahr und kann nach Ablauf erneut abgeschlossen werden.

Die Softwareassurance ist gültig für jeweils 1 erworbene Server-Lizenz für 1 Jahr ab dem Datum des Lizenzerwerbs für das jeweilige Produkt.

Ein Erwerb der SA ist für das jähliche Abonnement der Enterprise Edition nicht notwendig.

Hinweise:

Bei der Durchführung von Updates bzw. Upgrades ggf. zusätzlich erforderliche Leistungen sind nicht enthalten.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Bereitstellung von Upgrades für höhere SharePoint Versionen ausschließlich im Rahmen einer gültigen Softwareassurance erfolgt.

Office 365 bzw. SharePoint Online ist durch die kurzen Release-Zyklen einer ständigen Veränderung unterworfen, die Anpassungen in der kompatiblen Software erforderlich machen kann. Hier wird eine SA besonders dringend empfohlen.

SA ist für alle Lizenzen erforderlich, die eventuell später upgegraded werden sollen, produktive sowie auch nicht-produktive Server (QS, Test, Entwicklung usw.)
