End of Layer2 Cloud Connector Software Assurance

Software Assurance for Layer2 Cloud Connector Professional will end on June 1, 2026. Existing customers can transition to the Standard Subscription model with a 30% first-year discount.

We would like to inform about an important upcoming change affecting Layer2 Cloud Connector Professional Software Assurance (SA).

What is changing?

Starting June 1, 2026, Software Assurances for the Professional Edition can no longer be renewed. All existing Software Assurance customers will have the option to transition to a subscription-based model. 

What does this mean for Professional licenses?

Existing Layer2 Cloud Connector Professional licenses remain valid. Customers may continue using the software without interruption. However, without converting to a subscription:

 

➤ Upgrades will no longer be available

 

➤ License migration or relocation will no longer be possible

Why are we making this change? 

We are moving to a more modern and industry-standard licensing model. This transition enables us to:

 

➤ Simplify our product structure

 

➤ Deliver continuous improvements

 

➤ Provide clearer pricing and feature alignment

Which product is being replaced?

Software Assurance for the Professional Edition will be replaced by Layer2 Cloud Connector Standard Subscription.

When will the transition happen?

The change will take effect at your next renewal date, beginning June 1, 2026.

Pricing & Transition Benefit

To support this transition, customers receive 30% discount for the first subscription year.

If customers do not agree with this change, they may cancel the subscription at any time before the start of the next billing period.

If no cancellation is made, the Software Assurance will automatically convert to a Layer2 Cloud Connector Standard Subscription.

Important Information Regarding Cancellation in FastSpring

After the subscription has been moved to the new model, customers will receive a notification from FastSpring informing them about the subscription change, including:

 

➤ The new product

 

➤ The updated pricing

If customers do not wish to continue with the new subscription, they just have to:

 

➤ Click Account Management in the FastSpring notification

 

➤ Log in using the email address used during the original purchase

 

➤ Select Manage

 

➤ Click Cancel Subscription

 

If customers choose not to cancel, no further action is required. The subscription will automatically renew under the terms outlined above and in the FastSpring notification.
